Glutenfria frasvåfflor på teffmjöl


Okay, it’s March 25th which means nothing but “våffeldagen” in Sweden! Now for this year, how about giving them a healthy twist by substituting that white flour for something gluten free and nutritionally superior? I gave it a go and wow, the result was just amazing!

100 g of organic butter (melted)

4 dl teff flour

2 eggs

5 dl milk of your choice (regular or plant-based)

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp sea salt


1. In a mixing bowl whisk together all the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and salt).

2. Add the milk, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.

3. Lightly butter and preheat the waffle iron (For ultimate crisping, I use a 5 out of 6 heat setting).

4. Fill the heated waffle iron with batter until the whole iron is covered with batter (approx 1 dl batter per waffle).

5. Close the waffle iron and cook the waffles for a couple of minutes until they turn deep golden brown and crispy!

6. Serve warm with whatever you fancy; Here I used homemade nutella and coconut yogurt, berries, banana and shaved ceremonial cacao.
